should i stay w/vortec 96 and up?

    any disadvantages/advantages? someone has a real clean 95 w/200K + miles on it.

    The lack of a Vortec motor is a point against the 1995, as you're already aware. Another of the changes in 1996 was the introduction of OBD-II. It's a blessing or a curse depending how you look at it. You can no longer pull basic trouble codes with just a jumper wire. But, the 96's OBD-II will provide you with much more info if you have a scan tool.

    To be honest, with the prices of Burbs now a days, the savings of a few years is not worth it in my opinion. If you are looking for that generation, by the last year or as new as possible, or one with the lowest miles.

    If you buy a bad Burb, you'll easily surpass the purchase price of your vehicle in repairs.
