Hey everyone, wondering if anyone has bought side step bars, what brand you got and how they've held up / performed. Was looking at the gm ones but they seem to be really expensive. Others I'm considering are nasta or westin. Thanks for any info

I had a set of Westin steps on my 04' Silverado, and they were on there for three winters and never rusted. They were the stainless steel 3" tubes, I payed $329 for them back then so they probably went up by now. The only thing I didn't care for about them was the step pads, they were smooth plastic and very slippery in the winter time.

I am looking as well. I was thinking Chrome, but they have to be functional. No since bustin your chin trying to get into the truck. There is a local 4x4 Off Road shop, if you have one in your town, stop in, touch and feel.:great:

Westin. I worked at a shop for over eight years and we kept over 100 sets of Westins in stock because we sold so many. In those eight years I was there I warrantied 2 pairs. The installers loved em and you can find them almost anywhere to buy or if you have a warranty issue. Most bolt to body mounts and if you can screw in a light bulb you can install yourself.:great:

what ever you decide on, MAKE SURE you go with stainless, they are a little more expensive but will last much much longer, it will be worth the extra $$$

My truck came with Putco Boss bars. I like them, very beefy.

i know someone that had stainless steal nerf bars on his truck and he ran into a tree sideways, those bars absorbed so much of the blow. He went into the tree at about 40 mph and the bent bars didnt even touch the frame.
