Side steps paint process

    What up guys! I just lifted my baby 5.5 inches!!! And got some side steps cause it's my girl keeps coplainig about the height, maybe this will calm her down and stop her bit... You know what I'm tryin to say here, well my question is : they are made of aluminum and try are polished right now, before I installed them I want to paint them flat black so they match my wheels, I bought a can of grey primer and 2 flat black cans by crylon, is this all I need or should I go with some other brand? Type? Primer needed? Please help!!!
