It's not hard, like we told Riley a couple months ago dont be the loud guy and dont draw extra attention to your self, listen closely to what your instructors say and try to do exactly as they say it.
After boot camp and "A" school it'll all be worth it.

I would be happy if I got 17-18 with my 5.3L that 4.8L is a tiny engine and can't really do much ( no towing power ).

I'm happy getting 14-16 in mine in the winter (winter mix) and 13-15 in the summer (summer mix). It's darn close to stock and given the lift, tires, gears, etc ... it's very acceptable.

I'm getting 15/17 city and 19/21 highway which was advertised on the window sticker when I bought it, thats great mileage to me considering my last truck got 14/15 no matter where I was driving it.

AV? Did they combine AT and AE again? I knew before I left they were talking about merging the rates again. I was an AZ so all i did was DBA, Tech pubs, logs and records and all that. But I always went to "shop 3" where they did repair work on radar transmitters and receivers. Was always nice to be one of the few whom wear jackets while cruising the equator and people thought we were crazy, but it was always freezing cold in the shop because the CASS benches required it lol. I miss it sometimes hehe.

Redesignated to cover ATI and ATO. A lot of rates got changed or merged with traditional shipboard rates, for example AK's and SK's are now LS's (Logistic Specialist's) the push is on to integrate rates in this smaller Military, less manpower more work.

I wonder if they merged my rate with YN? I know there was talk about it and it would make sense because AZ does YN job as well as the aviation specific stuff too. Wouldn't surprise me if they merged it into PS or PN...whatever personnelmen are called lol. I like the idea of merging certain rated like they did with DT and HM though.

I don't know how you guys do it! My 09 w/4.8ltr. was getting 15mpg average till I put 20" wheels on it. It has a 2" lift with hedders & K&N cold air intake. I have as Edge programer and when it's set to performance (running preminum) it gets 12 if I'm VERY careful. Never did see the 21 mpg dealer promised!

I have a 4.8 with a gearvendor 2spd gearbox and I have no problems towing.
