Two people briefed on the plan say General Motors Corp. will close most of its U.S. factories for up to nine weeks this summer because of slumping sales and growing inventories of unsold vehicles.

If this does happen I bet unemployment will go belly up, that is a ton of people out at one time! Just between Mansfield, Parma, and Lordstown you are talking 7,500 people just in Ohio! People better wake up and start supporting our country!:gasp:

I personally blame most of this on my generation...they all want the riced out civics and all the other foreign cars so they can be "the fastest on the street"...so while they are wasting money on lemons all of the reliable cars are sitting unsold in lots and making corporations like GM suffer:grrrrrr:
I drive a wagon for the sole fact that's its a reliable car and i haven't had a problem aside from the suspension...but thats because i usually fly up and down backroads in it
