Hi All, I searched this but did not find the exact same problem. On my '07 1500 Classic Crew, I tried dropping the spare this morning because I noticed the spare was flat. The cable would come down all the way to the ground but the tire stayed up, there was a little slack to move it side to side but that was it. It appears the mechanism is caught in the housing. Do I just soak it with penetrating oil and wait or is there a trick to pop it free? My buddy said he had trouble with his on his '05 but just let the tire shop deal with it so he was no help. Any thoughts? Thanks

Reading the manual for my '05 & it says some have a safety lock and shows how to stand the jack on the chocks to push in the center of the mount to release it...look in your book and see what it says.
