Ok I got a 98 extended cab currently with 2 10" Kicker Comp VR's in a fiberglass up fire box. Problem I have is the speakers rattle because they didn't have wood for the mounting screws to bite into.

I am thinking of getting a new box, or building one. Question is Down fire or forward fire?

I have an extended cab with a custom wood box and have the 10's firing into the bottom of the bench seat. It sounds really good the seat helps to muffle the bass pretty good. I have heard them downfiring too. As long as your truck is free of rattles downfire is the way to go. Hope this helps and WTTC!
