    2004 Silverado 1500 Work Truck, 36,000 miles

The speedometer started to not return to zero. It was reading 18 mph when at rest, engine running or off. Now it reads 61 at rest and uses this as its baseline. So, while I'm driving the needle pins out at 120 and returns back to 61 when stopped.

What could be causing this and what is the fix? Thank you.

There was a recall on i believe 04-06 GM trucks for the speedo, my dad has an 05 avalanche and it did the same thing, he took it to the dealer and they fixed it because of the recall, contact your dealer and talk to them about it
