Starter removal question

2003 Tahoe with 5.3 liter engine . I removed the 2 bolts and can pull the starter out approx 3/4 inch . Then , I run out of space to move the starter.
What is the trick to remove the starter / gain more space ?
I have replaced starters on Jeeps, Dynasty Dodge , Suburban 1500 and never had this difficulty. The Suburban was the worst yet eventually , I could move the + cable from the starter relay feed and gained more maneuvering room . Not so on the 2003 Tahoe .

Has anyone found that more stuff needs to be removed to allow the starter to slide out of the flywheel zone ?
