starting trouble

    I have a 93 gmc suburban k1500 4x4 .i just replaced my head gaskets and my intake gaskets .now it wont start and it made a very loud backfire sound ,i thought i had blown the engine up it was so loud.everything looks normal.not sure what to do now.

    Sounds like the dizzy is 180* out. Take it and try again

    Just rotate 180 d does the timing have to adjusted.

    Possible but the 180 is a good place to start, get it runnin then look around

    yes, but just put the engine at TDC and then rotate the dizzy around first. That should get you started. Then you can adjust from there. Should be 0* (I think!) depending on elevation and region you live in, it may not hurt to advance it a * or 2
