So I got a 2002 chevy tahoe about 2 weeks ago, and it already had an aftermarket pioneer stereo in it but it doesn't work. I finally got around to pulling it out to try and find out what is wrong with it and who ever installed it didn't get a wiring kit. They just cut wires and did a really bad job of trying to wire it up. I have another pioneer that I want to put in there (its a newer one with USB and iphone/ipod control). Now my question is, how can I wire this up since they cut the adapter off?

The best thing to do is to go to the salvage yard and get the connector out of another one. Solder and heat shrink the connector to the harness. Then, get an install kit with a wiring adapter. To connect your stereo plug to the factory wires without putting the connector back on is just rigging on top of rigging in my opinion.

Besides... If you ever want to sell it and keep your stereo, you can buy a cheap factory stereo from ebay and slap it in!
