    Hi guys,

I have a 02 Suburban that has developed a transmission problem while I was driving on the Highway. It was stuck in 3rd and not going into 4th.
Now when I take off from the lights it stays in first until I reach 20mph and jumps straight into 3rd. Its Not changing into 2nd.
The trans fluid was low and has been topped up but made no difference.
    Anyone have any ideas?

The 4L60e trans uses shift solenoids to move through the gears. There are 2 solenoids, different combinations of each being operated, or released (by the PCM and the valve body), changes the gear.

I suspect one, or both, may be dirty. I would change the fluid and while pan is off, drop the valve body and clean it.
