Wow, I blinked and it's the second week of August already.
Seems like just a week ago and schools were getting out, now we're getting our stuff ready for back-to-school. Personally, it sort-of stinks for kids today because we never went back until after labor day when I grew up, but times do change.

Summer for me involved me transitioning to being full-time self-employed. That took a lot of time. Then my folks came down for a month, we did a lot with them.

Took a 12-day trip to Florida/Louisanna. Then just took another short trip down to San Antonio. We've spent some time, but not enough, in the pool at the gym as well.

Worked to secure a huge project for my employer, unfortunately after securing the project I was informed not only was I placed as the program manager, but the project time line was moved to begin immediately and my vacation for the end of summer had to be cancelled. So all my late summer travel plans are cancelled.
The end of August and most of September was to be vacation time, I had a 8 day motorcycle trip to Key West planned, come for 5 days then fly to Hawaii for 8 days, on the way back from Hawaii we planned on stopping over in California for 5 days.
    Instead Ill keep working.
At least the wife got to take the grandaughter on a month long trip out west, even if it did end a little more exciting than they wanted.

How many miles was that move? Is that for good, for now, for work, for school, for love? :)

Where is your trip going to take you?

That sucks. I had that happen before and one word of advice my dad gave me when I graduated was that I should never bite off more than I could chew, and that if you get into the position where you get to offer advice for future projects, you might be the one that ends up running it if they like it. That's the good/bad of the coin I guess. They like you, but that means they really like you and need you.

My daughter thinks it was great, since the airline tickets and hotel to Hawaii were paid for and non-refundable Im letting her and the son-In law go in our place. My boss is also working on getting the company to reemburse me even though I gave the tickets to my daughter.
Yea Ive got a job and way to much work there as long as I want it.

In this economy, consider yourself lucky to have more work and not less. :S

I'm going to Europe, Greece... Really looking forward to it.

The move way about 140 miles. Not bad, I was really happy with how my 94k1500 did. It had never pulled a trailer before and did it with no problems. The move was because I was stuck at a dead end job doing security, so my girlfriend asked if we could try it on the east side (shes from here, we met at school). I said yeah, so now we are here. I 'm doing security again, for Chrysler. Its a cool but boring job. I work at warren truck, so get to look at the rams being built all day long. Every once in a while, I sit and "guard" the viper plant. By "guard", I really mean sit in a booth and watch them get loaded on trucks, then sign them out when they leave, lol.

Just waiting for some extra money to do my MCOLES testing (Michigan Commision on Law Enforcement Standards), so I can apply for an Officer position. Thinking about heading to Detroit PDs career fair, but still undecided.
