    Hey everyone,

So Sgt and I were talking about a summer time truck meet this year. I know that we have members in USA and Canada, and all over the place. We were thinking about a central location to meet up, or maybe doing a few meets: Canada meet, USA: west, east, north, south.

So we are posing the questions:

    1) Do you all think that you would be interested in a truck meet?

    2) When (what month)

    3) Location

    4) One giant meet or 5 small meets

I am interested to find out, and then we can hopefully organize something. I am willing to drive a few days to meet up with everyone and have like a meet and greet, maybe a truck show, dinner, cruise...

    Let me know...

A National truck club I belonged to a few years back did something like this.
It was an off-road club so we had meets in different regions around the U.S., they were staged for different dates and a couple of the members caravanned to more than one meet.
We held them at Off-road parks and after the initial show and shine we all hit the trails for a couple days of wheeling.
The year previously we had tried one meeting point for all regions and it didnt have a very good turnout, to many conflicting schedules and to far for many of the members to drive.
Prior to that we had quarterly get togethers at a local Hooters that would give us discounted prices for holding our meets there.

Local Dealerships can be great resources for meeting places and sometimes if they think it'll help sales of parts and vehicles they get generous and throw in inexpensive door prizes. You cant buy advertisement like 25 or more tricked out GM trucks in the parking lot of a Chevy dealer, it draws a crowd and you never know who out of that crowd might stick around afterwards to buy their own new Chevy to trick out.
Also restrants are a great place, again a parking lot full of trick trucks draws crowds and some of them stay to eat and drink.
We even have a local grocery store that allows a club to use a portion of their parking lot on Friday nights in the summer.

It takes a lot of planning and dedication to set these meets up but the in the end their worth the effort, many of the people I met in that truck club are still good friends today even though I no longer have the time to get to meetings and off-road on weekends with them.

I agree with the regional events. I do like the idea of the dealership meet up due to the fact who wouldn't want to surround themselves with new bowties haha. May or June I think would work best, any later you start running into peoples vacations.

Good idea, have to make it regional I think and maybe if people can head to one of them as the "main meet" and the others are regional?

This car/truck car thing is not new to me, i have been organizing these meets for 15 years, and I understand about how hard it is to get a mass number of people together and how hard it is to organize these things... You just gotta remember that you plan it, and if people dont wanna commit and don't want to show up, and the date and time and place is set, and the effort has been made...then that is their loss. The dealership thing is always a great idea..: It is a lot safer too, as the law enforcement officers won't bother us at all, the less likely hood of "seedy people" coming to the meet..be in the company of chevy fans, and experts and stuff, more room to park trucks etc...

We should do regional meets as TB said, be a lot easier to organize people and the time, date and location..and I will try and see if we can do a Canada meet too, but I live close to washington (well 22 hours drive), but I will go to Seattle, Washington if one was there.. Lets see what other members think... then we can get something great organized... Will be awesome!!

I think that is a great idea. If you set up regionally folks can usually make at least one or two and possibly three. In some of the northern most areas, End of June would be best for a chance at good weather.
Both counties offer some scenic views that some may want to use it as a vacation.

    Some suggestions on location?
Vegas- They are always looking for ways to pull you into a Casino and some will assist in getting some musical talent to make it bigger. They could also easily pull from So.California and Arizona as well as Utah.
Reno/Tahoe= Same as Vegas. But would pull Northern Nevada and Northern California as well as Oregon and idaho
Seattle/Vancouver- Easy to figure this one out. Problem is if in Canada you must have a passport to cross border. Not sure if it works both ways.
St.Louis- Heartland and big draw. And of course RIBS.
    Fortworth/Dallas- Pretty logical there.
    Ne Orleans? - Nuff said
Detroit?- Hmmm lot of crime but also a lot of tradition for Automotive. Chance for Chevy to do it up big.
Savannah , Georgia- South east pull
DC- We could really make a statement about many topics especially if we parked them on the White house lawn
Boston/Maine area - Tradition and more.
Ohio/Kentucky area- Many tourist traps along the way.
Minneapolis- Maybe at the mall of malls. I hear that is a big thing.
    Toronto- May need extra security
Calgary - They have a stampede . wouldn't it be great to have a Chevy Stampede?

I will be getting a new passport just in case they have one in calgary or Vancouver. I can drive that far.. Oh and DC I definitely will find away to drive bak there

I think Raleigh NC is the new little "big" city of the south.... or it wants to be.... DC or Atlanta is 4-5 hours either way.... Nopi and SEMA go to Atlanta....
