Hey, Does any one no what it would take to put a t56 in my 1996 4wd Seirra. It's got a manual 5 spd. now but i would like a 6 speed with a lower set of gears, thanks Erik

I don't thinkthe Gertrag was ever used in a 4x4 so it may be hard to get a tailshaft that mates to a transfer case +/or a mainshaft to mate to the internals of the transfer case.

I have to agree with wis bang. I'm almost certain that the T56 was never used in a 4x4 application.

yeah, the problem is going to be getting a tail shaft that a t-case can bolt to, unless you know someone that can engineer a new tail shaft.

It's always possible to use a divorced transfer case, if you can't get an appropriate tailshaft for the transmission. But, then your driveshafts will definitely change lengths.
