After spending a few weeks up in the great white north, my tailgate struts began to fail. Now that I am back home, they're not working at all. Man, that tailgate is heavy.

Anyway, can they be re-charged, or do they simply replace them? I haven't yet called the stealership. I wanted to ask you all first.

replace them. Places like O'Reiley's have replacement struts. I've bought mine from them for things like my tool box lid and the hood to a friend's Jeep. They have all different lengths and connection fittings to make sure you get the right one.
