Hello, this may end up being a silly question, but in the Haynes manuals it says to shut off the Theftlock lockout before removing the battery, what is this lockout and how do you shut it off? Thanks, Dan

The Haynes Manual is most likely referring to the....Theft-Deterrent feature on the Factory Stereo,
.....THEFTLOCK is designed to discourage theft of your radio. It works by using a secret code to disable all radio functions whenever.....BATTERY POWER.... is removed.
.....THEFTLOCK feature for the radio may be used or ignored. If ignored, the system plays normally and the radio is not protected by the feature.
......If THEFTLOCK is activated, your radio will not operate if stolen.
.....When THEFTLOCK is activated, the radio will display LOC to indicate a locked condition anytime.....BATTERY POWER.....has been interrupted. If your.....BATTERY LOSES POWER....for any reason, you must unlock the radio with the secret code before it will operate

Thanks, for clearing that up, but now how do I find the code for the radio or know where to look for it? Thanks, Dan

There would be no code to look for........As it is up to the Owners to Activated or Not Activated the Theft-Deterrent feature on their Stereo's with a Secret Code.....and that is done by the owner picking 3 or 4 number Secret code and entering that Secret code with step by step instructions that are in the owners manual....Once that has been done the Factory Stereo's Theft-Deterrent is Activated.
