Hey guy's i have a question. My truck started saying that "ENGINE too hot A/C off and would drop too 160 degrees which is low then would end up going back up too 210 which is normal for my truck. Then it would just keep dropping and going back to normal. I checked my antifreeze it was low and i added water and let it run and still no difference and there is no leaking? could this just be my thermostat not letting my coolant reach the radiator to get the engine cooled or what?

Interesting. It could be but to be honest that is a completely new one with the warning signal. But it wouldnt hurt to put in a new t-stat. If that doesnt do the trick i would take full advantage of the 5yr/100K powertrain warranty that you have and make GM fix that.

Now correct me if I'm wrong here but didnt you just have a power steering issue after doing some mud running?
First check to make sure your fans are running correctly and not packed with mud or shorting out.
Then check the radiator stack to make sure there isnt mud packed in the fins and around the radiator.
Then check the connections for your temp probes to ensure they didnt get wet or dirty.
Mud is evil stuff it causes lots of problems when you play in it.

Hey man yea i went mud riding and the fan comes on soon as i start my truck up so i know that's not a problem and i finally got my truck all cleaned up today and mud all sprayed off. I also had some wires get messed up looked to be too the thermostat and could be throwing faulty codes to the cpu causing it too say it's running hot when its not. I just got my truck outta the shop a few days ago got new power steering pump and bracket. One main deal is the wires got burned but not where they are extremly bad but one could be messing the temp. up. I'm taking it too my dealership i bought it at in the mornin. Do you know if they will cover the warranty if your truck is lifted and everything or will that not matter thanks.

This repair is really gonna depend on how the wires got burned.
Heres a thread on the Magnussen Moss Warranty Act
    http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/sh...arranty-Act&highlight=magnussen moss warranty
Basically if the damage can be atributed to any mods you made to your truck then the dealer definately wont cover repairs.
Do a search for Magnussen Moss Warranty on this site and Google, arm yourself with as much info as you can before you go into the dealership, I suspect the situation surrounding your issues will void the warranty but it never hurts to be well informed.

Hey guy's well what is weird the check engine light was on also a day or two ago when all this was happening too. Also today the check engine light went off and the temp gauge went back to 210 which is normal and nothing coming up saying engine too hot a/c off anymore either. I really don't know i will continue to drive it and if it does it again get it looked at. I think what might have helped is there was 2 wires touching each other and i got electrical tape and taped one so they wouldn't be throwing anything off.. the wires didn't get harmed some fading but didn't melt them just the outer plastci liner around it burnt off but got new one around it now but tom. i'm gonna pop the hood take it back off and finish taping the rest of the wire back the way it was and connect liner on that to me was the problem because now it's running fine like nothin ever happened.
