I'm afraid to say because some of the guys on here will flog me with an old Ford v-belt, but it was higher than your 130mph :rofl: ha ha ha

My speedo was wound around & back past the dead space & pinned on the peg & couldn't get past zero again (that occured @ 5700 rpms & it redlined @ 7100 rpms') so I had to compute the actual mph from RPMs' x gear ratio x tire diameter when I got home.

edit** Did you do the 130 with those tires you have on in the photo?

Was running different tires. Clocked mine with GPS. Ilive in the mountains of TN not a lot of flat places here to let it fully wind out.

Hell, (less) top speed is one of the main reasons I got my truck!

My last car (Chrysler 300 SRT8) was a beast- Ran out of nerve before I ran out of car at 160 and it was still pulling like a tractor. Rock solid at speed and handled great, but needed something more practical and that wouldn't get me in nearly as much trouble. Hence the trade for the Silverado...

With that said, I'm guessing they are ECM limited somewhere around 115 from the factory?

Am I the only one who thinks it's odd and a little scary that the service warning is to "SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM" when looking at the speed indicated!? :surprised:

Whaaaat? Do all the newer trucks do this message thing? I thought they all had speed limiters or combo speed/rev limiters in the distributor or computer or smth similar. I saw a post on another site that newer cars & trucks (from approx last 8 years or so) had speed limiters that shut them down at 110mph. I never knew about the message thing.

All this new technology kind of sucks sometimes :grrrrrr:........

LOL NTBush, you shouldn't have caved so easy. You had me believing it. I really like the looks of your newer guages. I wish I could update mine to what you've got. Mine are p.o.s.

Haha I didn't want you guys to get worried! Most people ask how I took a picture going over 120! Its funny though! Well I'd be glad to give you mine! my speedo, tach, and sometimes temp gauge don't work. I looked at the white ss style but I'm not sure if those would look to tacky.

You can change those old gauges to a 91-94 set pretty easily. :)

Thanks Chris, but it would have to be really easy cuz I HATE interior work/dashes/trim/radios, all that stuff. That's why I still have the original 22 year old radio & speakers in it:rofl::rofl:

How easy is easy?? I had the dash cluster out before, but just replaced some bulbs. Will the 91-94 actually fit my old cluster or would I have to do a lot of trim, molding work, etc to make it look right?
