Torque Converter for Mountain Driving?

I have a 2000 Chevy Suburban 5.3, with 135,000 miles on it. Just lost 3rd gear a couple of weeks ago. My uncle (who is a mechanic) and I are currently rebuilding it. He mentioned a new torque converter. There are quite a few out there, but quite honestly, I know little about torque converters. I live in the mountains and have to drive up about 2,000 feet in elevation when I go home from town. So, I need something that is made for steep hills. Also, any suggestions on the tranny modification for the same conditions. Thanks!

I replied to your other post about this. Call Pro Torque:

Their converters are priced right and will last.
