Does anybody have a tow bar mounted to their fullsize?
I have one in hand, but am wondering if just bolting the thing to the front bumper is a good idea. The 89 has a pretty stout bumper- it is 1/8 or 3/16 thick.
I am going to be moving soon and want to pull the truck behind the moving van.
Frame mounting would require an aftermarket bracket that would prolly have to be custom made by a fab shop ($$!!!), so if any of you have done this please advise.
    Thanks.

The front bumper is flimsy. If you can't mount it to the frame, rent a tow dolly instead.

I dont think I'd try to flat tow something like a Suburban even if I had the bar mounted to the frame.
Thats a lot of truck to start, turn, and most importantly stop while being towed.

    X2!

we've made a few of these at work for my boss's 07 enclave, 08 1500 and his 09 2500HD a.d the best way weve come up with is to make your brackets bolt to the frame where the factory tow hooks bolt up
