Pulled the boot off the shifter and sure enough there was the orange wire hanging there .Upon close inspection ,there are actually two small wires inside the orange covering. So my question is, is that a pos. and neg. wire and do i have to splice each one seperate? Thanks
    Sorry, 2002 silverado

You do need to fix each wire, separately. I recommend testing with some test leads or a temporary wire to make sure your splices work prior to soldering something into place.
