tranny clanks

    Hey guys when i go from p to r it makes a really loud clank...i haven't drove an automatic in about 6 years so i am not sure what going on....:gasp:

    Could be ujoints. Now that I think about it I used to get that same thing in an old ford E300 but dont think I ever fixed it.

    What year, make, and model is the vehicle? If it's an old vehicle, it could be bad ujoints, a loose rearend, or slack in the transfer case. Bad ujoints can be relatively easy to replaced, a loose rearend is a pretty common sound, and slack in the transfer case can be a pain in the rear to fix.

    99 1500 sil extcab stepside v8 ls an it only does it when i go in to r no other gear
