The front drive shaft seal on my 2000 1500 4x4 is leaking pretty bad. Anyone have any expierence replacing the seal. Can it be done in the truck?

    Thanks

Usually if seal leaks there is a problem ..do you have any play in shaft? Can be done in truck ..but you have to have a special tool to pull seal.
If no tool have to split case to drive seal out. Have to get tool from gm.

Didn't check to see if it had any play when I was under it, will do next time. Sounds like it isn't a simple hammer in place seal.
