I'm thinking of buying an 84 chevy 4x4 from a friend of mine. He says it runs fine but when the engine gets warm and you turn it off, it won't start back up. Once it cools down, fires right back up. Any ideas?

i had an issue like this before with 89 1500. it ended up being the ignition coil. look for a small crack on it anywhere or check the resistance.

does this truck have headers on it, sounds like heat soak in the solenoid.

No headers, but my friend said he thinks it's the starter. I thought I'd get some advice before buying parts here and there till its fixed.
