VIN: decipher coding assembly plant ?

    How can I determine where my 1990 Chevy 1500 Silverado was built ? Is it in my Vin ?

    all of my trucks have had a sticker inside the driver's door jamb that says "proudly union assembled in "fill plant name here"

    All of the sites I visit say it's the 10th digit, mines a " L'' anybody know what 'L' means as to an assembly plant ?

    I found this list, but the few sites I visited said it was the 11th digit. The tenth digit represents the year, L= '90, M='91, N='92, P='93, R='94, S='95.....
    here are the 11th digit plant codes. I don't understand why J represents 2 plants
    A - STRUANDALE S. AFRICA

    E - PONTIAC MI
    F - FLINT MI
    G - SILAO MEXICO
    H - MISHAWAKA IN
    J - JANESVILLE WI
    J - LANSING MI
    M - TOLUCA MEXICO

    S - RAMOS ARIZPE MEXICO
    S - SPRINGHILL TN
    T - SHREVEPORT LA
    Z - FORT WAYNE IN
    0 - LANSING MI
    1 - OSHAWA ON
    1 - WENTZVILLE MO
    2 - MORAINE OH
    3 - KAWASAKI JAPAN
    6 - INGERSOLL ON
    6 - OKLAHOMA CITY OK
    7 - FUJISAWA JAPAN
    8 - SHREVEPORT LA
    8 - TILLSONBURG ON

    Well there's no 'L' so I assume it's a '1' and that's either Oshawa Ontario Canada or Wentzville Missouri ? But on my owners card it's clearly an 'L' ?
