Vortec 5.7 Distributor Problems

    When replacing the distributor,i believe the distributor hold down fell into the hole.Any suggestions on what to do?

    Are you sure? I would look on top of the bell housing or the transmission first.
    If you really think it did fall down the dist hole, fish for it with a long magnet, or a magnet on a wire.

    No luck on finding the hold down ,bought a new one,but im having trouble with getting timing correct.While the dristributor was out my daughter turned on the key and turned over the engine.
