From what I'm reading, (and admittedly it could be wrong) the only differences between the 7.4L and the 8.1L (8100) engines are in the stroke of the cyl. Does anyone know if there was a design change in the bolt pattern of the heads? I'm thinking it would be easier just to increase the stroke, and not retool the heads, but I don't design engines.

Good idea. I wasn't actually going to act on it. I think it would be easier to find vrtoec 7400 heads, but it was just something that crossed my mind, and I wondered if anyone knew.
