White Painted Bowties

  1. I initially covered my bowties with vinyl, well i thought it looked great... from 20 feet away, but close up the vinyl didn't stick very well. so now that i knew i wanted white bowties, i picked up a can of DupliColor Perfect Match Summit/Olympic White and a can of clear coat to paint them. they aren't as glossy as the paint, eventhough i put 6 coats of base and 10 coats of clear. do you guys think if i wetsanded them, then polished them they would reflect like the paint does?

here are some pics, i also decided to debadge the truck at the same time

just ordered fog lights, chrome tow hooks, and a dual wall angle cut exhaust tip... trying to keep it all OEM for now! i cannot decide if i want the painted grille with chrome mesh! any inputs on that would help... if i get it i don't think the painted bowtie would look right, i would buy a chrome one.

Looks great! I went with flat black on mine to contrast against the shiny black paint of the truck.

The white bowtie looks really good. IMO a painted grill would blend in too much with the white and the painted bowtie. If anything, keep the stock grill and get billet grill inserts instead of the plastic mesh.
