Will the third row seat from a 1998 Suburban fit in a 2002 2500?

I have found a nice blue leather rear (3rd) seat for a suburban for $165, but it is from a 1998. It matches ok with my blue vinyl middle seat, and front seats.

Does anyone know what would be needed to make it work in a 2002?

I looked at the picts on your profile and it looks like you have two wide slots where the front of the third row locks into the floor. Then where the rear slots should be you picture shows what looks like something protruding up from the floor. On the 98 there are two narrower slots where the back of the third row seat locks into the floor. Stephan, what about your seat belts? Are they attached on either side of the roof?

I thought the seat belts would be part of the seat?

I dont have any sign of seat belt holders in the panels on the side of the truck.. interesting point.

They might be in the seat on the 2002. On my 98 the retractable for the lap/shoulder belt is on the ceiling on either side. You pull down on the metal tab that locks into the seat belt attachment on either side of the 3rd row seat. The center of the third row has the lap belt built into the seat. You could get the seat belts with the 3rd row seat and be in business as long as the seat is the same then the belts should be the same too. Measure the distance between the forward and rearward hold downs in the floor of you cargo area. The forward pair should be about 40" apart, the rear pair about 30" apart and the distance between the tow rows of hold downs should be about 13". You can verify that the donor truck has the same set up and that you can adapt them to your truck. I am attaching a scan from the factory manual on how the seat belt attaches. If you cannot see the detail well enough send me a PM with your email addy and I will send it to you. Good Luck
