Hi all,
I have an '00 Silverado with the 5.3L. I was wondering what options there are out there for some easy performance mods? I'm a horsepower junkie. I have Flowmaster DOR exhaust, but thats it. I have heard a lot of people swear by cold air intakes...not sure which brand is best. What mods do you all recommend that dont require TOO much install time? Not looking to put new cams in or anything, just some bolt-on mods. Thoughts?

I have a Banks CAI, ported throttlebody, shortie headers, Magnaflow cat-back and a Diablo Preditor. The Preditor is being replaced, but theres nothing wrong with them, you can still make adjustments yourself after installing one of there tunes, 87 or 93 octane. I think its the best bang for the buck. You can get them from MarylandSpeed.com for $279.00 shipped. You can data log with the Preditor and then get a custom tune from diablew.com. You can see the Banks CAI in my lastest photo album.

I would recommend a SCT tuner from VMP Tuning with a custom tune. As far a cold air intake goes, just use a K&N drop in filter. These tuners do a lot more then you think they would, they also change the Torque management on transmission, this alone will give you a lower ET if your into that. VMP tuners are custom tune for your car or truck. I have one for my Mustang, I'm very pleased with it.

I've read good things about VMP tuning Fords, but nothing about there GM tunes. Theres several members on this site that have a DiabLew tune by Lew using a Diablo Preditor or Trinity and are very happy with his tunes.

I checked it out on their site, but it only has 2003 and 2007-2011 listed...do those fit the '00 interface?

I havn't talk to anybody who has a SCT tune for their Chevy by Justin (VMP) but he say's he does them. I do know he is one top tuners in the country for the Mustang. When you call you get to talk to the man himself.
