Hey guys. I put a flashlight into the handle when it was lifted and one of the wires has come off the right hand side of the mechanism. So when I lift the handle, only the left side of the tailgate opens (so its stuck).

How to I get to the mechanism to pull the wire back on?

This happened to me about a month ago. Put a screwdriver flat head on the top of the black plastic cover and carefully push down until the plastic insert comes loose and pull out. Once this is open you will be able to pull the rod in , inorder to release the lock. You just broke a plastic insert cap. GM sell's them at the part's counter for around $6-9 dollars. Easy fix.
