The engine tries to turn over but doesnt. I have checked the fuel pressure and it is between 50-55. Not sure what else to check.

Hooked up a code scanner? Probably has a code for crank sensor or something that could tell you more.

I don't think the gas powered LS-based V8s have fuel pressure regulators. There is a pressure sensor on top of the pump though that could have gone bad. Should pop a code in the ECM though, that a scanner would point at.

My '03 had one...its was a 4.8L V8...i had the same issue and replaced the FPR and all was good
