It's the new guy again. Another thing I'm wanting to do is improve the brakes on my truck. Never thought the OEMs were that great especialy with the larger wheels. So I'm willing to upgrade the rotors and pads. Any suggestions?

For upgrading to aftermarket Rotor's/Pads.......Some of the ones to look at would be.....Powerslot.......Stainless Steel Brake Company....EBC.....to name a few......Depending on your Budget, I would mentioned swapping out your OEM Rubber Brake-lines W/Stainless Steel Braided Brake lines......with New Rotor's/Pads, would be a Huge improvement over your Stock Brake setup you now have.

Edit:.....I would also mentioned that this would be a Good Time, to flush your Brake Fluid....

As Mike mentioned above, whats your budget? Theres simple replacement pad/rotors or complete new brake conversion that include bigger pistons and calipers.

I could spend 3 to 400 bucks. I want a very good brake system, not over the top system I dont think replacing calipers is necessary. Just want the most bang for my buck.

Has anyone had any problems with Power Slot rotors or EBC products?

Hey Heartbeat! Does that kit come with Hawk LTS pads? I'm looking to upgrade my brake setup soon also. But, I get married in a few weeks which explains my empty wallet.

When I did my last brake job on my 02 Silverado 4X4 Ext. I used EBC pads & rotors from Summit, also flush out old brake fluid with a Motive pressure bleeder from Summit, replaced rubber brake lines all the way around. I got those from the Chevy dealer. Also Powerslot stuff is great Quality.

The SSBC Kit.....comes with the Rotors and the Hawk H.P. Ceramic Brake Pads, as I mentioned above installing the SS Brake lines with SSBC Rotor/Pads.......has been a Huge Improvement over the Factory/OEM Brake Setup!!.......Hand Down.

ADude, sorry if I'm crashing your thread but.....

I was planning on getting some Hawk LTS pads all around and just resurfacing my rotors. I'm still debating whether to have SS lines cut. I know a local shop that cuts lines for really cheap. They cut lines for drag car & etc.

But, this setup would still run me about $250.
