Driving my 2005 1500HD Silverado 6.0L crew cab on the highway at 110km/hr. Truck started slowing down but RPM's going up. Pulled over to side. Tranny fluid at correct level and good color, drive shaft still there. no visible damage underneath or fluid leaking. Got back in truck put it in neutral, switched to 4hi then back to 2hi and my truck was good to go. This wasn't the first time this has happened.
Can anyone let me know if this is a transfer case, tranny or even just a u-joint problem.

If it hasn't been serviced per GM recommendations then I would start with a trans service.

One other thing, if your MAF is dirty it can send false signals to the trucks computer thus the trans malfunctioning. CRC is the ownly company that I know that makes a MAF cleaner, its in a silver can. DON'T use anything but MAF cleaner. Its about $5.00 a can in the U.S.. Even if the MAF isn't the problem it should be cleaned at least once a year, I do mine three or four times a year.

When you say you took off the MAF maybe you got some dirt in it.
