Hey guys, my 89 Sierra K2500 3.7 350 just stalled while in drive at a red light. Threw it in park and it fired right back up. We did just get a full days worth of rain and I went and drove it as soon as the rain stopped. After driving for a while it seemed to idle rough in park and almost bog out. I’m thinking it’s possibly electrical because of the rain, distributer, timing or fuel pump. Don’t know if anyone else had this similar issue. Thanks

Don’t spend money on parts without testing.

First, remove the distributor cap and chMerck for moisture.

Also, at night without lighting, open the hood and check for cross fire near the distributor.

I would take a spray bottle and wet the distributor to see if you can duplicate the behavior.

Also, check your fuel pressure with a TBI test kit. The chain stores usually have one for rent.

Timing is controlled by the computer, so I would not mess much with the distributor other than to check under the rotor for corrosion or damage.
