I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado 5.7 V8. About a month ago i noticed that my blower wasnt working in my truck. I've had issues with these before in other vehicles and tried tapping on the blower motor itself to get it to work and no such luck. Heat still comes out of the vents but with no force. I can also hear it switching from defrost to feet and so on. I had to replace the battery in the vehicle and when i did it then kicked on and only worked on HIGH. When i switched it from HIGH to the 3rd speed it stopped working. I just want to narrow it down so i am not replacing a bunch of parts. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It's a common failure. First check fuses. One fuse for high and another for all other speeds. Google 98 Silverado Heater fan speed control failure. It's an easy repair.

first remove the motor put a fused 12volt wire to it see if it runs.. then with the motor out inspect the resistors/wiring/connectors .

could be the HVAC controller ..
if you run the fan motor on high a lot I would guess the motor .. but check it out first.
