2000 Jimmy Clunk Going Into Gear After U Joint Replacement

Hey y'all. I just replaced my U Joints because of a vibration and a clunk going into reverse and drive.

However I'm still getting it from reverse to drive, drive to reverse. Park to reverse is smooth. The transmission was replaced in 2013 with a jasper unit at 140k miles. Truck only has 188k on it now. It shifts excellent. But what else could cause the clunk?

Thank you!

Might need lub on the driveshaft yoke

No. It's already been lubed. That's not going to cause the issue
Slop in the rear end gears would do it. Block the wheels, put the truck in neutral, and twist the driveshaft by hand. I would bet it moves a considerable distance within the rear end.

The pinion seal is definitely leaking like a civv. But there's no rear end noise while driving. I did move the driveshaft by hand while I had it in the air and it didn't seem bad just normal movement. I'm sure it's a little low on gear oil. Cover is dry, just the pinion seal leaking
