I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 4 x 4, I have a squeaking noise coming from the rear wheel area of the truck and it feels like something is draging. There are no e brakes on the truck i removed them awhile ago but the the sound and the feel is still there. Any Help?

Sorry I didn't mention this before rear brakes are disc and there are no E brakes I removed everything for the e brake system, any other help?

brakes could still be dragging. Assuming its drum rear brakes one way to check is lift one tire off the ground and have it in nuetral. spin the tire and see how difficult it is to spin. properly adjusted should be some tension and tires should spin about 2 revolutions. Do the same to check other side. if those seem to be fine than hopefully someone else will have more suggestions.

Have you taken a look at your universal joints in the driveshaft? They make squeaking noise in the rear when bad.
Good Luck and God Bless
