Good news!
New oil pump pick up o-ring fixed my low cold start oil pressure.
Got my cold oil pressure back up to 55 psi.

I see in yesterday's picture you had a red and a black o ring, I know there is a difference; but for the life of me, I can't find the specs on the net.

Ray, I had to go to the dealer to get the red o-ring. It was $10 but I'm sure it is the correct dimension.
The black one is the original o-ring.
I'll see if I can find the dealer receipt.

That's what I saw, people were saving the red one was for trucks.

I'm sure you have the right one, looks like there is a case for leaks around the O ring.

My 2001 did not exhibit low oil pressure until 288k miles.
Just have to watch it before it gets worst and score the crank journals and bearings.
Glad I did not dilly dallied. LOL.

I have used synthetic Mobil1 since new and still saw a little sludge in the oil pan. Can you imagine using dino oil?

Ray, the worn black o-ring is actually dark green upon close visual inspection.
It's allowing air to get sucked in from the pick up tube connection to the oil pump.
As you can see in the pic, it's not a round section anymore. The edges were flattened.

Pic of the oil pan sludge.
Also my nasty oil pan leakage was due to the old compressed pan gasket rings unable to seal the pressurized oil filter oil passages in the pan.

Oil pressure update as of Oct. 21, 2021.

Nice 58 psi at 2k rpm even at 295k miles. Can't wait to get up to 300k.

Hey, Bel. Those two ring gaskets. What part number are they, if you recall?
