My 2002 s10 starts fine and idles kinda rough but when I try to accelerate it bogs out and completely loses power, lucky to make it to 5mph and had to put it in 4 wheel drive to get up the slight hill to my house. Have already tried a few things but kinda at a loss now. Any ideas?

Hmmm, don't know how 4wd would make a difference.

What's the '02 got in it, 2.2 or the 4.3?

Ok, I think that engine has a distributor, could the timing be off?

Could also be a fuel problem, perhaps a dirty filter. I don't know if you have an external filter, or in the tank.

Speaking of filters, have you checked the air filter?

We have tried the fuel filter, crank and cam shaft position sensors, throttle position sensor, cleaned the distributor cap,and are attempting to run a fuel treatment through the system. Someone suggested the catalytic converter might be clogged..?
