Hi I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L and I live here in California and need to get a smog check well my truck popped two codes on it on OBD 2 it was catalyst and evaporative system and lately I've noticed like when I turn the key my check engine light comes on and then goes away once I turn the truck on like normal but sometimes it doesn't show up at all ?? I need some ideas

well with these type forums post what the failure codes are. also I would buy a code Reader reset tool and do this your self.
cost is about $80. tool will pay for itself and will be used in the future on other vehicles.

many members here can help with vehicle details and the failure DTC codes..
