When I drive around with the windows down, I hear some minor metal clank/squeaking noises from under the truck (similar to a standard old truck). Is this problem usually solved by replacing the leaf springs, the shocks, or both? They are all original still (i.e. a bit old). I'm not looking to lift the truck at all, just return to factory. My buddy said Bilsteins were the way to go. Any thoughts?

X2 on the Bilsteins shocks, great shock. I would also get under the truck and tighten the heat sheilds. The heat sheild on my transmission likes to come loose even after using LocTite. I would check the other nuts and bolts also.
