My father just bought a 30' camper trailer. He and my step mom checked the towing capacity and the trailer empty is about 1,000lbs under that. I was at his house last night and he is getting ready for a trip. The rear end of the Denali was slammed down. Its AWD and has factory 20' rims. He said it tows terrible, power is there but feel heavy. He has the anti sway hitch and brake controls all installed from the RV dealer.

I know he has factory air ride suspension and it will level off when he starts the truck. Dies anyone make a HD airbag that can replace the factory bags and still use the factory compressor? I checked online with ride rite and firestone and wasn't sure. Has anyone installed them and do they help?

He we talking and he may just trade it in for a Yukon XL SLT so he has rear wheel drive 4wd when he needs it and also should be able to get better airbags.

Suggestions appreciated. His Denali has the 6.0 the power just not the beaf to tow

Thanks

The Denali has rear coil springs, not that good for heavy loads. He should get a 3/4 ton truck/Yukon because the have rear leaf springs that are better for heavy loads. 1/2 ton Yukons and Yukon XL's have rear coil springs.
