I recently bought a 2006 Sierra. I noticed the dome lights don’t turn on when the drivers door opens. I checked the other doors, which causes the dome light to come on when opened. I also noticed the radio does not turn off after I turn off the truck and open the drivers door, however the radio shuts off when I open the other doors. I’m not good with diagnosing electrical issues. Any thoughts on what specifically could cause this? Thanks in advance!

There is a "door open" switch inside the door, attached to the latch/lock mechanism. It, or the wires to it, are your likely fault area.

I agree with Ray. Hopefully the sensor is just unplugged.
