I have a 2010 Silverado and I've been having this issue for a while now. If my truck sits over night it starts and runs fine in the morning, but if I turn it off and try to restart the engine it doesn't want to run. It will turn over for about 10 seconds and when it finally does start it runs very choppy, the tachometer is disabled, the check engine light is on, and I am getting messages saying to service my traction control/stabilitrak system.

I replaced the throttle position sensor yesterday and it fixed my problem for about a half hour then my check engine light came right back on and all of the previous problems came back. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Not sure what my next step should be.

The last time I had it plugged into a code reader it just spit out a generic code that was easily cleared but within a few miles my check engine light came back on. I have disconnected my battery to clear the computer a few times and the engine light turns off briefly but always comes back on.

The CEL is a general notification that something is wrong. It's telling you that the codes should be read to determine what and sometimes where the problem is. Clearing codes without reading and writing them down so you can accurately post them is a waste of your and our time.

We're here to help. But we're gonna need to know what the truck is complaining about.
