My Avalanche has the backup camera view in the rearview mirror. The camera is located under the tailgate handle. I removed the tailgate cover, but can't get a socket on the nuts holding the camera on to the tailgate. Tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Have a great day
Thanks

Not understanding what your end goal is, is the camera broken, or do you want a new system?
I am attempting to replace the rear camera with an OEM camera. I can't get a socket on the nuts holding the camera in place. I'm unsure whether I need to disassemble the latch mechanism to have better access to the camera.
Thanks

I reason I'm asking is because I wasn't sure you had a good camera, or a faulty one.
If your changing the camera because you think it's bad, consider that the wires take a bearing everytime the gate is raised or lowered.
