Yesterday I noticed that when I had the climate system set to "auto" for both fan and air flow I would hear a random "thump" noise coming from the dash area. It almost sounded like a sound that might be heard as temp changes (very cold to warm/hot) within the system. It seemed to be somewhat random in nature. When I turned off the auto vent portion, the noise seemed to stop.

Could it be the system trying to rotate the way the air is flowing? The manual mentions that the system adjusts to whatever vent/air speed is best to keep the temp steady (based on the temp you chose).

Any thoughts? Is it worth having a mechanic at Chevy check it (under warranty still).

Thanks for your feedback.

It is probably the fresh air inlet door closing against the seal at the firewall. See if you can duplicate it by turning the temp from hot to cold with the blower on high. You can also try changing it from defrost to the floor venrs and see if it makes the noise
