So everything works just fine on bluetooth, but when I connect my phone for music or navigation, it freezes. Also in navigation, the screen keeps switching to night mode during the day so I cant see the screen. Any advice?

If it's switching into night time mode during the day, the ambient light sensor is being covered, or it is faulty.

Bluetooth between your phone model software and the trucks BT software may not allow music or Maps to connect.

My truck will only BT for phone calls. Mine is an '09 and making phone calls was the big need at that time; but, yours may not do much more.

What does the Owners Manual say you should be able to do.
