I have a 2017 Silverado 1500 high country. Today I noticed the lane assist switch was off. When I tried turning it on I got a message in the information cluster that ( lane assist was unavailable)
The truck bed light switch and parking assist buttons both next to the lane assist respond fine. Amber light on etc.

Any ideas?

Well, there would be body codes stored in the body control module, they can be retrieved with a scan that has the ability to access that module.
I suspect it's a faulty sensor, or sensor circuit; has the truck been in an accidentally?

Are you driving on a freeway or other road with well marked lanes? Or a country two lane? The truck has to be able to distinguish separate lanes. Temporary markings in construction areas are no bueno.

The sensor dried out.

Probably but it doesn't seem logical as it should work properly in the rain.

I understand there's a difference but it's 2017 you would think with all the tech they figured how to do something right by now.

If you had it washed the high pressure spray can get into everything. My passenger tow mirror acts up almost every time I get it washed. When it drys out it's fine until the next time. I've never had a problem in the rain (or hurricane!).

Well I guess every thing comes with a glitch like the mounted black extrusion that gets placed where a roof rack gets installed is sorta peeling. This is 2 cars in a row
2015 jeep renegade and now
2017 Silverado.

Manufacture on first car said during research and development they didn't foresee issues with rainy climates?

Hmmm

You mean the black roof seams that run front to back? I think that's a hard rubber seal. I'll have to check my roof to know for sure. But I think the peeling you mention is just a coating to protect it during manufacturing. It's normal for it to disappear. Again I'll check mine to be sure.

Or are you talking about actual mount strips for a roof rack?
